TY Trip to Carlingford
16th September 2019
Alex McCormack and Sara Guinan reporting:
On Monday the 9th of September at 8am we left for Carlingford in Co. Louth. Straight away when we arrived in Carlingford we were allocated to our rooms. After we got our rooms we went to get wetsuits on for our first event, kayaking in the ocean. Something most of us hadn't tried before. While we were kayaking we went to a trampoline in the middle of the ocean we were brought out on speedboats. Following the kayaking we went back to the Centre and had spaghetti bolognese. The ice-cream and mango for desert was perfect. After dinner we went on a walk called the Nightline walk through the forest and we did lots of fun activities including games. The day didn't end there as we went to the forest again to play laser tag which was so much fun.
On Tuesday morning we woke up at 8am to go out and have a breakfast of toast and cereal. Following breakfast we had about a half an hour of free time so we played a game of volleyball. It was time to hit the heights for today's activities as we went on a long walk to the skyline zip line course. We spent a few hours on the Skyline during which time we did a maze and a lot of games zip lines and skyline walks.
That was the end of our experience in Carlingford where we got to bond as a group and kick of Transition Year in style.
