Transtition Year Play
5th February 2016
Following the success of the school musical, Oklahoma, our TY group took to the stage an immediately began rehearsals on their one Act play, Acceptance. The play, written by the Transition Year group themselves, following a successful acting and script-writing course with the Gaiety School of Acting, addresses key issues in teenage life. Tackling problems such as bullying and peer pressure, the play provides an entertaining and gripping insight into teenage life.
Whilst every member of the group took to the stage, the lead parts were impressively played by Jenny Kelly, Heather Masterson, Lauryn Macky and Robert O'Mara. Jade Crone also received a special mention for her convincing performances as a teacher and a dismayed parent. The group brought the play to the Mullingar Arts Centre recently to take part in the Briery Gap One Act Play competition. The group gave the most accomplished performance of the production on the day and did the college proud. Well done to all involved.
