Defeat in U16 Competition

6th November 2019

Castlepollard Community College's run in the U16 Championship came to an unlucky end yesterday. The game took place in perfect conditions in the school. The team faced a strong Mercy Secondary School, Kilbeggan side who [ut on an impressive second half display to knock our lads out of the competition.

Jamie Sweeney put on an excellent display for Castlepollard with an impressive three points in the first half. Darragh McCormack's accompanying display meant the home wide had a four point lead at half time. Despite an impressive effort in goals from Callum Fagan, it wasn;t enough to prevent a strong reaction in the second half from the away side who eventually ran out winners by five points. Best of luck to Kilbeggan with the rest of the competition. Well done to all involved with our side having grabbed two wins over St Finians and Granard before this game.
