Castlepollard Community College is a rapidly growing institution and along with it our sporting endeavours have developed. This has been clearly illustrated in the popularity and growing success of our camogie team which has flourished under the guidance of Ian Fivey, Ms Brady and Ms Smith.

Although camogie has only got off to a start this year, it is one of the most prominent sports in Castlepollard CC. This year the school fields teams that cater for each year group. This includes the Minor D Championship (U14) and the Junior D Championship (Senior).

With GAA being a huge part of the community, especially camogie, it has provided an excellent foundation of students hailing from local clubs, such as, Lough Lene Gaels and Castlepollard. The girls train once a week after school and each year there is a first year Blitz which allows the girls to compete with a number of different schools in Westmeath. With the passion and commitment shown by the girls so far, this highlights that the camogie in the school will keep growing from strength to strength.
